What's Included

Here’s what included and how you can get the most out of this lesson:

  • This course introduces beginning piano playing technique and concepts. Lesson 1 focuses on sitting at the piano, hand position, finger numbers, high and low sounds, and keyboard patterns.
  • PDF downloads: In addition the the online video recording, lesson 1 includes a downloadable song sheet, activity page and practice guide. 
  • Lesson 1 is approximately 8 minutes in length. You can pause or replay any part of the lessons as many times as you want to practice on your own.
  • You’ll notice the Blue Bee mascot guide you throughout the lesson providing helpful tips and reminders.
  • This lesson includes a “mindful moment” breathing and listening activity. Practicing mindfulness supports focus and awareness of your body, important parts of being a musician!
  • Celebrate small wins and remember it takes consistent practice and time to master a new skill. Focus on progress, not perfection – and most importantly, have fun making music and sharing it with others!
